Jeg vil ikke skremme dere men pass på hundene og kattene deres.
Når dere reiser sørover hvor pinetrees / furutrær gror tillt opp i furetrærne. Om dere ser spindelklumper så pass på. Her kan det pupper eller catepillar som er veldig giftige.
Når de er "klare" faller de ned og går i lange rekker på bakken.
På campingplasser og offentlige plasser er eiere / kommunen pålagt å sprøyte gift for å drepe dem, men likevel kan de forekomme. Andre stellplasser blir det aldri sprøytet.
Får hunden katten dette i munnen kan det aller verste skje. Vi var ikke klar over faren før vi i 2014 lå på Poliscampen i Tavira, Algarve. Her plukket en venn opp mange fra bakken oppe ved "Svensktoppen"
Så vidt jeg vet finnes ingen medisin.

Dogs have a bad habit of licking the area where the pet caterpillars have passed- having similar consequences as if the dog had been chewing on them. As mentioned above, symptoms that your dog has been in close contact with these creatures are dribbling or foaming from the mouth, and/ or sever rashes close to the mouth and tongue. For dogs these creatures can be specially nasty as they can cause them to lose their tongue. This from what I understand, comes from the intense itching that the dog simply scratches his tongue out or that it simply (Tongue) dies. It is therefore recommended to act with total caution and call a veterinary, they will know what to do
